Gel Medium Caramel Apple Tutorial

Gel Medium Caramel Apple Tutorial

By Deonna Bemish

Supplies used:

Golden Gel Medium-Regular Gel (Gloss)

Stampin’up Ink Refill- I used Creamy Caramel on this one.

Digital stamp-Sweet Spicy set-Clear Dollar stamps

Container to Mix Gel and Ink in-I used an old Small Sizzix die lid

Spatula to Mix, apply and Spread

Paintbrush to apply to Apple

1. Color your image with your choice of Coloring media- I colored my apple and stick with Copics (R22,24,27,29 and E51,53,55)

2. Mix the amount of Gel Medium that you think you’ll need with a few drops of Ink - Mix well to get a uniform color.

You can add additional  ink to the medium to get the color that you like.( I put 4 drops of ink total to get this color).

3. Once Completely Mixed,  Apply your medium with a Spatula and a paint brush to your apple on the Cardstock . I tried to cover the apples bottom as much as possible without coloring the Black lines completely as you can see here.

4. Let Dry overnight. You should be able to tell when it’s dry, it becomes glossy looking.

5. Once dry, cut your apple out with scissors and cover with a plastic Baggie or Cellophane. Tie the Top of the Baggie with Jute or cord in a bow..

 6. This is your finished project before putting it on a card. Note: I used Dimensional glue dots on the back of the Cellophane bag to hold it in place on the card.

Here is the example of the first card using this technique. You can view this card on my blog. I used Vintage Photo distress ink mixed with Gel Medium on this one. http://ilovetomakecards.blogspot.com/2012/10/clear-dollar-stamps-blog-hop.html

Thank you for stopping by and looking at my first tutorial.
