Hi Everyone, Deonna here, with my Project of the Week making Fabric Softener sheet Stamped Embellishments. Want to recycle those old fabric softener sheets? Now you can. I love this technique and it's really quite easy, so let's get started.
Supplies
2 Used Fabric Softener Sheets
Matte Mod Podge
Craft Sheet or Freezer paper surface
Sponge Brush
Black Ranger Archival ink Pad
Scissors
Brayer (Optional)
Repeat Impression Stamps used- Flower Power Separates, 9001-L, Butterfly (lg), 9009-F, Butterfly (sm)
Coloring Media- I used Ink-Tense Pencils to color mine, but you can use anything that you have.
Step 1
Flatten your used Fabric Softener Sheets- I used a mini iron and towel. This may not be necessary if the fabric softener sheets will lay fairly flat on your surface.
Step 2
Take your Mod-Podge and spread it using your foam brush, onto your craft mat. Make sure that you make a place big enough to lay down the first Fabric Softener sheet onto. Add More Mod-Podge to the top of that layer and add the second Fabric Softener sheet. Run a Brayer over the top to saturate with the Fabric Softener sheets together. **You may need to add more Mod-Podge to the top of the second sheet. Put aside and allow to completely dry.
Step 3
Once Dry, Peel Off the Mod-Podged sheets starting at a corner and working inward. After completely removed, Trim the edges with scissors if needed.
Step 4
Using your black archival ink pad and your Repeat Impressions Stamps, Stamp directly onto the dried Fabric Softener sheets. Wait until the ink is dry.
Step 5
Color the images as you usually would. **I've chosen to use my Ink-Tense Pencils to color mine.
Step 6
Then Fussy Cut each butterfly or Flower out with scissors. Your embellishments are ready to be used.
Finished Project Using these embellishments.
