Beautiful flowers everywhere

Getting ready to spend the day with my Dad and Mom at the Indianapolis home show and thought that i'd share some flowers that i watercolored. I'm really love learning the whole process. The Color Wheel and complimentary colors etc... I know that i learned this when i was a kid but now i'm actually enjoying it. lol!

I didn't really have a reference photo for these. I just found different flowers and started drawing and putting them together.

Look at what i've painted now! A chubby looking Chickadee

 It's not perfect, but i'm sure loving doing it. lol!

I bought the Van Gogh palette of watercolors from a little shop here in my town that was going out of business for 50 percent off. They say that it's not the watercolor paints but the artist who creates a great painting. I really don't know but i do know that it isn't easy mixing colors for the color that you desire. It's going to take me a very long time to get the feel for that. I do know that a brush can make you or break you. I bought the Silver black velvet brushes in a few sizes and i really love those.
