This post will remain at the top until the silent auction ends
Well once again i've been inspired by Youtube. lol I found a couple of ladies who make beautiful junk journal albums using material, papers, fibers etc.... and thought of my Grandmother immediately. If you also would like to watch their video's go to youtube and look up Kay Comer and Jenny Miller. My Grandma lived to be 100 years old and i have many fond memories of staying at her house and some of the things that she taught me along the way. Of Course, i couldn't fit all of them in one book but it brought back many things that i'm grateful for her for. I still have some in my head but there wasn't enough room in this 8 x 8 book with 16 pages total. I bound it with Book rings and added fabric strips to them. Most of the Pages were made with paper sacks and old quilts or textiles that i found at thrift stores etc...and yes i actually did some sewing using the zig zag stitch on my machine.
Most of the quotes, poems etc.. i found on pinterest. The majority of the buttons, spool of thread and safety pins used were my Grandmothers that i had. Some of the base page photo's were some of the quilts that she had made that i took the photo of and printed to use. I also added several "Mini books" with some blank pages for stories that someone else might like to add. The photo's i got from my Aunt Patty. She had them stored on her computer and sent them to me so i could print them off.
Take A Look down memory lane with me. I'm not posting all of the pages in this journal because I've decided to have a silent auction for my family and something needs to be a surprise. lol. I was considering giving this journal away and then I thought, let's have some fun and let everyone in my family have a chance at it.
Here is the link for the youtube video if you would like to take a better look.
