Decorative Napkin Embellishments tutorial

Using a Decorative Napkin for a  Background or Embellishment? Here is a technique to help you cut the napkin in usable pieces without ripping it.

Supplies
Decorative napkin- I found at the Dollar Tree, Matte Mod Podge, Sponge Brush and Saran Wrap

1.  Begin by separating the layers of your napkin.  I've found that generally is one layer but sometimes there are two.

2.  Lay out a piece of Saran Wrap large enough that the napkin will fit on top.

3.  Using your Sponge Brush, apply Mod Podge all over the surface of the Saran wrap. Make sure to cover enough space so the entire napkin has Mod Podge under it when you lay it down.

4.  Place the Napkin on top of the layer of mod podge. Try to lay as flat as possible.

5.  Take your Sponge brush and then apply another layer of mod podge all over the top of the napkin. **** You may have to daub the Mod Podge on instead of brushing it to keep the napkin from tearing.

6.  Allow to completely air dry overnight.

7.  Once the napkin is completely dry peel it off of the Saran Wrap Carefully. It is now ready to use.  You can cut it in pieces to use as the background for a card or Cut individual elements out to use as embellishments.

8. Your Napkin ends up more translucent and sturdy making it easier to Cut and use.

Stamping with Liquid Applique-

Hi everyone, I thought that I'd share some of my old tutorials that I have written. I thought that it might be fun.

Supplies used:

Dark colored Cardstock- I chose DCWV textured in Red and Blue
Liquid Applique- I used White, Yellow and Brown from Marvy Uchida
Rubber Stamp- I used A Repeat Impressions-lg. Butterfly- Summer Series
Heat Tool

1. Gather supplies- Daub each color of liquid applique to the raised area of the stamp. **I was able to stamp this image twice on two different colored Cardstocks by daubing the Liquid applique one color at a time to the image and not spreading it as seen in picture.

2. Have your colored cardstock ready to stamp immediately after coloring the rubber stamp with Liquid applique. I stamped the Red one first and the Blue one second without cleaning the stamp in-between. The Red one is more thick and puffy while the Blue one is less thick and shows more details in the stamp.

3. Allow the liquid Applique to dry a couple of hours on it’s own and then heat set until becomes raised and puffy.
*Do not overheat, liquid applique will scorch and turn Brown.

4. Your image is ready to create with!

What a find! freebie printables

As I was helping my Grandma pack her stuff to move we found this awesome book. It didn't have a cover but it was made out of kraft colored paper and it looks very old. It is a book of poems and I think that it was printed in the late 1800's. Wow, what a find and Grandma gave it to me. I scanned some of the poems in it to share, but there are tons more.
Take a look and take if you'd like. Wouldn't these be gorgeous in Junk journals?

God's Covenant with with the Earth= Genesis

I have another bible art page to share. It comes from Genesis: 8- the Dove finds the olive branch and brings it back to Noah so that he knows that the waters are receding  In Genesis 9 God makes a covenant with the Earth by giving us a Rainbow. Both images were hand drawn looking at a reference photo and then water colored using Clean color markers.
