Mixed Media Art Journal

It has been awhile since i did anything in my personal Art Journal, mixed Media Style.

I'm loving the Spring weather that we are having here in Indiana so i wanted to do create some

thing with a lot of color and personality. 

I did a watercolor background for this page and used Whipped Spackle by Faber-Castell and stencils to give them texture.  I colored the butterflies and flowers with Gelatos and then outlined them with a black PITT pen by Faber-Castell. I then took some tulle and used Mod Podge to attach it to the surface.
I used some Tim Holtz background stamps and some archival ink to stamp in various places.  The Word Beauty was cut out with my sizzix dies and black Cardstock. I then added some Whipped Spackle around the page.

Art Journal page using Poppy Meadow

 

 

My poor Art Journal was feeling neglected so I decided to Create a page in it to post today.  I love making pages but I struggle with having ideas.

 

On this page, I decided to lay down masking tape and Create with it.  I colored it with Gelatos in a cream color and add brown.  Of course I then put White Gesso all over it to seal it.  Took the cap from my Acrylic paint bottle and used it to put circles around the page.  The Stamps I stamped on a old hymnal page and fussy cut out. I used Mod Podge to glue it down to the page and then sealed it on top with Mod Podge and colored with Gelatos in red and pink. The stamp set is from Indigo Blu and called "Poppy Meadow" I also added a design adhesive from Color box and added Perfect Pearls in Forever Red.

Another Mixed Media Journal with a Western Theme-

I have so many friends that are into horses, including my daughter that I thought it would be appropriate to make a Western themed Journal.  I just can't stop making these things. lol! They are so much fun and so easy to make. Most of the items can be bought at Simon Says Stamp.

Playing around with Gelatos and Perfect Pearls

After cleaning my entire house Saturday morning I decided to play all afternoon.

I have some new Gelatos and got some Perfect Pearls in different colors on clearance at JoAnn Fabrics on Friday evening and decided to do some Experimenting. lol!

 I created another Artist Trading Card today.
